Rucha is an extremely talented and versatile musician from Ujjain Madhya Pradesh. She is blessed with a
powerful voice and an incredible range traversing three octaves.
She is a music visharad and obtained initial training from Shri Parulekar (Ujjain) in Gwalior Gharana
and Kirana Gharana Gayaki in formative years from Shri Appa Indurkar (a disciple of the legendary Ustad Amir Khan saheb) She had the privilege of learning from Pandit Vijay Kopparkar for a short period.
She is under the guidance of the illustrious Vidushi Arati Ankalikar Tikekar from 2008.
She teaches Hindustani Classical vocal in New Jersey USA through ‘SVARNAAD’ school of music where her effort is to incorporate ‘Guru-Shishya’ parampara of India and inculcate the same values to her students. Rucha’s musical career gained recognition in 1993 with the award of the top prize at a mere age 10, at Soor Sangam Sansthan, Jaipur; where she performed in front of Sangeetkar Naushad sahab, Birjumaharaj amongst others.
After coming to the United States, she won the prestigious BMM Swarangan Competition in 2011 & amp; was amongst the top contestants of Zee Sa Re Ga Ma 2012 (North America).
She was awarded Fellowship With IndianRaga in 2015.
She recently recorded her First original composition with Dr Saleel Kulkarni for is Web Series Abhijaat. A wonderful product of natural talent and delicate musical nurture, Rucha remains an extremely humble and self-effacing artist. Apart from her musical pursuit, Rucha also has had a commendable academic career, and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy from Maharashtra University Of Health Sciences.
