Maithili Patel, a young emerging Kathak, dancer, has been mentored by renowned Kathak exponent, Guru Pali Chandra, for the past eight years at Gurukul Dubai and Gurukul Switzerland. She began her dance training at the age of 4 and in October 2015 she did her Rangmanch Pravesh,"Aatman," thus beginning her dance journey as a solo performer. Following the ISTD UK syllabus of Kathak, Maithili has recently completed the Advanced Level of Vocational training with a Distinction. Applauded for her grace, elegance, and intellect, Maithili Patel has performed extensively at numerous events all over the world. These include several showcases under the Gurukul banner in Dubai like the welcome reception held in honor of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Dubai, UAE, Taal Mala at the Indian Consulate, Kathak Festival, Sufi Noor, Rang-de-Rhythm and also at numerous events in Lebanon organized by the Indian High Commission of Lebanon in 2014.

Maithili has been hugely admired for her lecture-demonstration under SPIC MACAY at Sardar Patel University and for Charotar Education Society in Gujarat; along with solo performances at the American Natya Festival in St. Louis, USA and the Janmashtami Utsav in Brussels. In 2018 she performed at Modhera Dance Festival in India; at Lasya dance production in Dubai; at the House of Lords, UK; Aamad at Nehru Center, the UK as well as ‘Repertoire’ at ArtsDepot UK.

Maithili regularly visits her hometown, Anand, as well as other classical dance hubs in India, such as Trivandrum, Bangalore, and Lucknow, to learn and to share her art.

Maithili attempts to spread social awareness using her art as a medium. She believes in Empowerment through Art and tries to help those in need by bringing dance into their lives. Encouraging people to use dance as a means of therapy, she has worked with differently abled children in Anupam Mission, India and has also been a part of fundraising events for the Special Needs Foundation in the UAE. Pursuing a BS in Biology from Montclair State University in NJ USA Maithili has also taken courses in modern dance and dance choreography. Maithili holds prominent leadership positions in her university as Dance Captain of the Indian Cultural Club and President of the South Asian Student Association. She has also been a part of various panel discussions that talk about the inheritance of Asian culture and remaining connected to tradition in the modern world.
